There is a very special story behind this piece:it is dedicated to the memory of one of the most important people in my world: my French Nanny, Lulu, who raised me and who has been a central point in my life for more than 45 years and more after she passed away a few years ago at the ripe age of 99...

Lulu had a beautiful heart like this one with tons of love, empathy and compassion for everyone, or anyone  who crossed her path...It is however interesting that despite being twice married and divorced, she  lived by herself for decades with a fierce sense of freedom & independence; it almost seemed as if she never really allowed her heart to be totally free to love and be loved by even the most fervent of her suitors...

Not unlike this gorgeous heart sitting in an enclosed cage with the free andfiercely independent spirit of a bird contemplating from outside...
